Eindhoven-based CityLegends, a platform celebrating street sports and urban culture has raised $2 million (€1.71 million) in new funding to enhance its technology and expand its global presence.

The company provides a digital hub for urban sports, street culture, and creative communities, connecting enthusiasts and local scenes across the globe.
The $2M funding round saw participation from GFR Fund, Dutch Sport Tech Fund, Leisure Fund, and SportInnovator, with follow-on investments from existing backers LUMO Labs and LeanSquare.

Founded in 2020 by Jimmy Hermans and Thijmen Verkerk, CityLegends is a global platform that connects athletes, creators, and fans across street sports and culture. It unites skaters, freerunners, BMX riders, dancers, and more allowing them to share locations, clips, and events in one digital space.

CityLegends plans to use the new funding to expand into new markets, enhance both its free and premium platform features, and grow its B2B Media division.
