ScoutinScience, active since 2020, works with tech transfer offices, universities, governments, and companies. It offers AI-driven tools for technology scouting, ecosystem analysis, and innovation strategy.
Its platform features a user-friendly dashboard that helps users explore research across disciplines, institutions, and countries. With advanced filters like TRL levels, SDG alignment, patent origins and research group contributions, the tool makes it easier to find and assess high-potential research.
The European Commission has twice highlighted ScoutinScience’s work in research valorisation as a best practice. The company currently supports clients in Germany, Austria, Ireland, and the Netherlands, and maintains active partnerships in over 10 countries.
ScoutinScience was founded after discovering that up to 80% of university research goes unnoticed. Starting with a pilot project at a Dutch university, the company has grown to support universities, government agencies, and investors worldwide.
The team brings together expertise in science, innovation, and tech transfer, using AI and data analytics to uncover valuable technology opportunities hidden in academic research — ultimately aiming to boost innovation and social impact.
ScoutinScience collaborates with institutions in Ireland, Germany, Slovenia, and beyond, helping shape Europe’s innovation landscape by unlocking the full potential of academic research.
The new funding will fuel growth across three areas: expanding into more European markets, developing proprietary measurement tools, and strengthening its offerings in tech scouting, strategic reporting, and innovation matchmaking.
Gilles Meijer, CEO of ScoutinScience, says, “This round reflects the increasing demand from universities and public research institutions to unlock the value of their scientific output in a strategic, data-driven way. We’re excited to scale our reach and deepen the insights we provide around real-world impact.”
