The round was led by Speedinvest, with participation from QED Investors, Crestone VC, and several European business angels.
“Every year, suppliers lose billions because they lack transparency over what has been delivered, invoiced, and paid,” said Barbaros Özbugutu, co-founder and CEO of Donnerstag.ai. “With our AI-powered platform from Germany, we’re bringing clarity to a sector that is central to Europe’s competitiveness.”
In 2025, the European accounts receivable and working capital automation sector has seen notable funding activity. Mimo, a UK/Stockholm-based B2B payments and receivables platform, raised €7.7 million in Seed funding.

Founded in 2025 by Barbaros Özbugutu and Volkan Özkan, Donnerstag.ai focuses on supplier accounts receivable management in the DACH region. Özbugutu brings prior FinTech experience as Country Manager Germany at Klarna and as co-founder of iyzico, acquired by Prosus/Naspers in 2019.
Donnerstag.ai’s AI-powered platform connects ERP, service, and banking data to detect discrepancies in real time and automatically reconcile thousands of transactions. Its intelligent algorithms identify inconsistencies, predict missing line items and alert finance teams before revenue is lost. By continuously learning from each customer’s data patterns, the system becomes increasingly precise transforming reconciliation into a proactive, intelligent financial control layer.
The broader European market shows growing traction for platforms addressing complementary niches including receivables pre-financing and invoice factoring, signaling strong potential for Donnerstag.ai’s solution.
“At a time when artificial intelligence is redefining ERP and financial systems, Donnerstag.ai is creating an entirely new category that has never been technologically addressed before,” said Stefan Klestil, General Partner at Speedinvest. “Barbaros and Volkan combine product expertise, strategic vision, and executional strength in a unique way. We’re proud to lead this round and work with Donnerstag.ai to shape the future of European financial technology.”
