Datamonk Secures €1.6M Pre-Seed To Accelerate Medical Imaging Data Migrations With AI

The round was led by Healthy.Capital and Nina Capital, with notable angel investors including Jeroen Tas (former Chief Innovation & Strategy Officer at Philips) and Harm-Jan Wessels (founder of Applicare, Forcare, and Healthsage AI). Earlier support also came from Antler and Rabobank.

Hospitals and imaging providers store vast archives of X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs in PACS systems. Migrating this data to modern systems to enable AI is typically slow, costly, and consultant-heavy, often taking a year or more.

Datamonk replaces these manual processes with agentic AI, automating migrations while improving data quality. Its AI agents detect and correct metadata issues, standardise study naming, and validate data integrity during transfer, enabling migrations 5–10 times faster and reducing manual effort and costs.

Founded in 2024 by Jaap Gielink, Jai Bhatia, and Matthew Condron, Datamonk combines expertise in healthcare data, cloud technology, and AI to build the data layer for modern healthcare.
