SUMMARY

  • Denmark-based Dropla Tech, a startup building AI-powered threat detection and autonomous demining solutions, has raised €2.4M in pre-seed funding from Maj Invest Holding, EIFO, and Final Frontier.

The funds will be used to speed up production and deployment of its edge AI systems, which detect explosive threats and improve protection for partners in Ukraine and Europe.

This supports NATO’s need for offline, independent threat detection that works without cloud reliance in challenging environments.

Founded in 2023 as a Danish-Ukrainian partnership, Dropla Tech builds AI-powered threat detection and autonomous demining solutions.

Its edge computing system keeps sensitive battlefield data under direct command control while providing real-time detection of landmines, UXOs, IEDs, and ambush drones with high precision (under 15 cm accuracy) at the frontlines.

The company’s testing site includes 170+ confirmed explosive targets, offering real-world validation that labs cannot replicate.

“In active conflict environments, we are delivering immediate life-saving capabilities by reducing the risk of loss of life and injuries from explosive threats and ambush drones deployed within the FEBA zone. This is the way we contribute,” says V’yacheslav Shvaidak, PhD, Co-founder and CEO of Dropla Tech.

“With this strategic backing, we are scaling production to make a change in Ukraine, while advancing our integration into the NATO C4ISR ecosystem. Also worth mentioning is that we integrate with any Short Range Reconnaissance UAVs, as our solution is Drone Agnostic, you can install the capabilities within a month,” adds Shvaidak.

Dropla is backed by both Danish and Ukrainian defence agencies. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has shared battlefield-based requirements, guiding Dropla to address key capability gaps.

With Denmark pledging over DKK 60B in military aid to Ukraine, Dropla stands as a link between government policy and private sector innovation.

“Dropla Tech delivers life-saving innovation with real-world impact. Their edge-based threat detection technology not only strengthens Europe’s defence capabilities but also addresses Ukraine’s urgent needs. Defence is one of EIFO’s strategic focus areas, and we’re proud to support a company that combines world-class technical excellence with critical geopolitical relevance,” says Louise Flyger, Investment Manager, EIFO Investment.
