CyGO Entrepreneurs, a venture studio based in Lyon focused on innovation in European cybersecurity, has raised €5 million in its first funding round. The goal is to create 10 cybersecurity startups.

Aurélie Clerc, co-founder of CyGO Entrepreneurs, remarked: “CyGO Entrepreneurs is much more than a cybersecurity project; it’s a call to a new generation of European leaders, capable of steering the future industrial successes of our sector. The support of these leading investors allows us to pave the way for strong, ambitious, and Europe-rooted cybersecurity.”

Laurent Hausermann, Co-founder of CyGO Entrepreneurs, adds: “The emergence of cybersecurity champions is a necessity for Europe, and this support from influential entrepreneurs and investors highlights the urgency and importance of this project. We are grateful for this trust and excited to build international companies capable of addressing tomorrow’s challenges.”

CyGO says that as cyber risks and geopolitical threats grow, there is an urgent need for new, scalable cybersecurity solutions that are based in Europe. CyGO Entrepreneurs wants to fill this gap by launching startups that can quickly and efficiently solve real-world problems.

By using the knowledge of their network of cybersecurity experts, the studio aims to bring new solutions to market faster and help startups grow their revenue.

The studio’s goal is not just to launch startups, but to build a competitive European cybersecurity ecosystem. It wants to encourage innovation and create companies that can tackle global security challenges.

Malte Pollmann, former CEO of cybersecurity firm Utimaco and an investor in the round, emphasised: “Investing in CyGO Entrepreneurs means leveraging the priceless wealth of experience. By transforming the insights and expertise of its founders and partners into an actionable methodology, the studio empowers its startups to navigate the critical stages o f growth more quickly and effectively, establishing themselves in the European market.”

Pierre Gillet, Investment Director at Bpifrance, stated: “By investing in CyGO Entrepreneurs, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening technological sovereignty. This project embodies a clear ambition: to create companies capable of competing globally while consolidating the local ecosystem. We are delighted to contribute on behalf of the French government.”

The studio plans to use the funding to provide startups with operational and technical support, encourage collaboration among cybersecurity experts, and help set them up for long-term success.
