SUMMARY

  • Hybrid Greentech, a Copenhagen-based provider of virtual power plants (VPP) and renewable energy market integration, has raised over €15 million from growth fund Nordic Alpha Partners.

The funding will support the company’s expansion across Europe, including customer acquisition in new markets and integration with additional energy exchanges. Following the investment, Nordic Alpha becomes a significant minority shareholder, helping drive Hybrid Greentech’s growth in the renewable energy sector.

Founded in 2018, Hybrid Greentech builds cloud-based virtual power plant (VPP) platforms that connect energy storage, flexibility, and renewable assets. As both a balance responsible party (BRP) and retailer, it operates a vertically integrated system encompassing trading, multi-market optimization, asset interfaces, analytics, and settlement within a single platform.

With EU energy consumption projected to rise 60% by 2030 and 40% of the grid over 40 years old, the region faces nearly €600 billion in upgrades over the next four years. Hybrid Greentech’s technology helps save billions by enabling renewable and storage asset owners to interact through one coordinated system.

Specializing in AI-powered VPPs, the company manages standalone, co-located, and behind-the-meter battery systems. Its fully algorithmic, cloud-based platform allows asset owners and utilities to integrate storage seamlessly, optimize performance using live data, and reduce unnecessary battery cycling delivering more flexible, efficient, and sustainable energy solutions across Europe.

Hybrid Greentech’s platform is built to enhance flexibility by connecting distributed energy resources including EV batteries household storage, and rooftop solar installations. Aggregating these assets strengthens local grids reduces peak demand and improves system stability amid accelerating electrification.

The company notes that integrating new energy storage into the grid is not only operational but also highly technical, with permits, certifications, grid connections and market approvals often taking months or years. As a vertically integrated player, Hybrid Greentech simplifies regulatory processes, shortens project-to-market timelines, and delivers comprehensive VPP services.

“Storage and flexibility are essential to a renewables-heavy grid. We are excited about Nordic Alpha Partners’ investment, which supports our expansion into more European markets and helps our customers unlock more value from their assets while strengthening grid resilience,” says Rasmus Rode Mosbæk, CEO and founder of Hybrid Greentech.
