SUMMARY

  • Contribe, a startup on a mission to revolutionise the shopping experience by giving all users the power to engage with on-brand impact projects with every purchase, secures €1 million in funding.
  • Founded in Copenhagen in 2023, Contribe has attracted over 100 online businesses as clients since the end of 2023, and 100,000 users globally have utilised their product.

Lasse Viggo, Tobias Ørskov Madsen, and Christoffer Winther Bouet are among the co-founders. With a focus on tech, strategy, and sustainability, the team combines experience from tech startups, consultancy, and the legal sector.

Christoffer Winther Bouet, Co-founder of Contribe said, “Contribe is built on the recognition that consumers, especially Gen Zs and Millennials, aren’t just interested in discounts and savings. They want to make a difference and leave a positive impact on the planet. Meanwhile, they’re not interested in boring ESG reports or empty eco-friendly claims,”.

By working with it as a recognised partner, brands can now do good without worrying about being perceived as greenwashers. Nowadays, very few businesses actively support charitable organisations. This is due to the lack of a solution that enables them to fund social and environmental projects without compromising financial success. We're changing that now," said Contribe co-founder Christoffer Winther Bouet.

Tobias Ørskov Madsen, Co-founder of Contribe said, “At Contribe, we believe that every transaction is an opportunity to make a difference. Our platform allows businesses to create a win-win-win situation where customers can support causes they care about while shopping online, and companies are rewarded for making a difference,”.

It has quickly added over 100 clients, including the Swedish company Understatement, MessyWeekend, Copenhagen Cartel, and Sinatur Hotel & Conference. But for corporations, it goes beyond simply being morally upright. Companies that use Contribe can actually track how much of a positive influence it has on their conversion rates, order values, and repeat business—all while cultivating a devoted customer base.

Christoffer Winther Bouet, Co-founder of Contribe said, “Our clear goal is 1 million users by the end of 2025. Right now, we’re building the future, and we believe that in 10 years, shopping with social sustainability will be a standard for all companies,”.
