Coda Completes Its Acquisition Of Amsterdam’s Recharge,Reportedly For At Least €400M

Singapore-based Coda, a digital content monetisation platform, has completed its acquisition of Amsterdam-based prepaid payments platform Recharge. Valued at least €400M, it marks the largest fintech acquisition in Dutch history.

The deal, supported by Apis Partners, Insight Partners, Smash Capital, and others, follows Coda’s earlier definitive agreement announcement.

The acquisition creates a partnership to distribute and monetise digital content and prepaid products across mobile gaming, entertainment, and lifestyle.

The combined business, serving over 200M users in 180+ markets, processed $1.75B in 2024 and is set to exceed that in 2025. Recharge’s brands and Coda’s solutions will continue operating seamlessly.

Founded in 2010 by Robin Weesie and Dirk Ueberbach, Recharge is a global prepaid payments platform offering over 16,000 products, from gift cards to prepaid solutions.
