British Hyperscaler Nscale Secures €936M To Boost European AI Infrastructure

Nscale, a UK data centre startup under two years old and central to Silicon Valley’s plans for UK AI infrastructure, has raised $1.1 billion in a Series B round.

Nscale, a UK data centre startup under two years old and central to Silicon Valley’s plans for UK AI infrastructure, has raised $1.1 billion in a Series B round.

The funding was led by Norwegian energy infrastructure group Aker, with participation from firms including Nokia and Nvidia.

Nscale is collaborating with Aker to build OpenAI’s AI data centres, StarGate Norway and its UK counterpart, StarGate UK. The company plans to use the new funding to expand large-scale AI infrastructure across Europe, North America, and the Middle East, supporting projects like StarGate Norway and StarGate UK.

Including the Series B, Nscale has raised nearly $1.3 billion to date.

This recognition comes as these tech giants announced major investments in the UK AI ecosystem last week, coinciding with President Trump’s visit.
