Bolero is developing a decentralised infrastructure for music rights investments, similar to what Stockholm's anotherblock and MasterExchange are doing. This infrastructure would essentially let investors and fans to purchase music licences and earn a suitable portion of future payments.
By giving fractional shares of possible future earnings via royalties, creators—whether they be producers, composers, or artists—can access an instant line of liquidity in contrast to the traditional way of monetisation that artists rely upon, which may or may not play out.
The company states that as part of the financing round, it now wishes to go beyond individual investments and is focusing on exchange platforms, professionals in finance, and private investors.
Bolero co-founder and CEO William Bailey elaborates: “This capital increase is a major step in Bolero's development as we celebrate our third anniversary. In addition to the funds that will enable us to accelerate our R&D and the roll-out of our model, we are welcoming to our capital-renowned investors who embody the wealth of expertise we have brought together to build a future where creators benefit from a sustainable and fair income.”
