Overstory, an Amsterdam-based company specialising in vegetation intelligence for the utility sector, has raised $43 million in Series B funding.

- Overstory, an Amsterdam-based company specialising in vegetation intelligence for the utility sector, has raised $43 million in Series B funding.
The round was led by Blume Equity, with participation from Energy Impact Partners (EIP) and existing investors including B Capital, Semapa Next, Pale Blue Dot, CapitalT, Convective Capital, Bentley Systems, MCJ, and Moxxie Ventures.
The funding will support the development of Overstory’s AI-driven risk models, strengthen its wildfire prevention solutions, and fuel global expansion.

Led by CEO Fiona Spruill, Overstory provides an AI-powered grid resilience platform that helps utilities prevent outages and wildfires. Using high-resolution satellite imagery and proprietary AI models, the company enables a shift from reactive maintenance to targeted, risk-based strategies allowing utilities to deploy resources more effectively and build safer, more reliable grids.
The funding comes after seven years of rapid growth. Overstory’s team has expanded to over 80 employees from 16 nationalities, combining expertise in machine learning, data science, forestry, and wildfire management.
Leading Overstory’s next phase is newly appointed COO Tamara Mendelsohn. The company operates from its U.S. headquarters in Boston and its European headquarters in Amsterdam.
