Dublin-based Altach Biomedical Ltd, a healthtech company backed by Amsterdam’s NLC, raises €1.2million in fresh funding. The money will be used by the business to advance therapies for articular cartilage damage, which is a primary cause of osteoarthritis.

The money came from a number of sources, including two individual angel investors, NLC's Stepping Stone Fund, Castanjo B.V., and a crowdsourcing effort on Spark crowdsourcing.

"It's scaffolds represent a significant leap forward in the ability to treat cartilage lesions, By eliminating the need for intrusive procedures, this device lowers healthcare expenses while also improving patient outcomes. As Altach moves closer to clinical testing and potential commercialization, we are thrilled to support them."

The money will go towards advancing it's technology towards commercialization, which will ultimately aid patients suffering from cartilage damage.
