SUMMARY

  • Belgian cybersecurity company Aikido has secured $60M in Series B funding at a $1B valuation, led by Tom Stafford at DST Global, with participation from PSG Equity, Singular, Notion Capital, and other investors.

Founded just three years ago, Aikido is now among the fastest cybersecurity companies worldwide to reach unicorn status and, according to the company, the fastest ever in Europe.

Aikido’s Series B comes after a year of remarkable growth with 5× revenue growth and nearly 3× customer growth. This achievement makes Aikido the fastest-ever European cybersecurity company to reach unicorn status highlighting the growing demand for security solutions that scale with modern software development.

Aikido is a developer-first cybersecurity platform that enables software teams to identify, prioritise, and remediate security issues across the entire software stack from code to cloud to runtime through a unified, automated approach.

The company plans to use the new funding to accelerate global expansion and invest further in engineering and go-to-market talent.

Led by Co-Founder and CEO Willem Delbare, together with Co-Founders Roeland Delrue and Felix Garriau, Aikido Security builds AI-native cybersecurity solutions that integrate directly into engineering workflows, automating the testing, validation, and remediation of exploitable risks.

The company serves over 50,000 organizations, including the Premier League, SoundCloud, and Niantic, and is now expanding its platform across PSG Equity’s portfolio of more than 160 software companies.

According to a blogpost written by CGO Madeleine Lawrence, “We didn’t start Aikido because we thought the world needed another security product. We started it because we were developers ourselves, and we were tired of security being something that happened to us instead of something that helped us.

We were tired of tools that created noise instead of clarity, complexity instead of progress and process instead of outcomes. As Willem reminds us every day, “Developers just want to get back to building fun features.”
