Digital payments specialist Adflex has announced a strategic partnership with SAP Taulia, a global fintech company focused on working capital solutions.

Through the integration of Adflex’s Straight-Through Processing (STP), SAP Taulia will be able to offer automated virtual card processing for suppliers, reducing manual work and limiting PCI-DSS compliance requirements.

Virtual cards are an effective working capital tool, but supplier processing has often been inefficient. Typically delivered via email or portals, they require individual handling, making the process slow and resource-intensive.

Adflex’s STP technology automates card data capture, removing the need for manual entry and, in many cases, reducing PCI-DSS scope.

The partnership aims to streamline the final stage of delivering ERP-integrated virtual cards from SAP Taulia, removing friction and increasing supplier adoption.

Andy Downman, Commercial Director at Adflex, added: “Virtual cards started as a secure, convenient way to handle low-value ad hoc spend, but are now widely used for high-value supplier payments, often as an additional line of credit, creating challenges of scale as businesses process thousands of cards one-by-one.

“Adflex STP automates end-to-end processing, enabling SAP Taulia customers to manage any volume of virtual cards – regardless of the issuing bank while reducing the burden of PCI-DSS compliance. This move comes as virtual card usage continues to rise. More than 90% of procurement leaders are already using, planning to use, or considering virtual cards, while 85% in EMEA expect to allocate over a quarter of their spending to them within the next two years.

This growth coincides with increasing pressure on procurement teams, with 72% of professionals reporting higher demands on their roles.
