  • 4Founders Capital, a VC firm in Barcelona, has launched its third fund, 4Founders Capital III, aiming to raise €65 million.

The fund will focus on early-stage startups, investing between €250k and €2 million. They plan to back about 40 high-growth tech startups with the potential for global expansion and provide further investments to those performing well.

So far, they have invested in two startups: Punto Post, a Mexican company improving last-mile logistics with SaaS, and Mogu, a SaaS platform helping travel agencies boost sales.

Marc Badosa, Co-founder of 4Founders Capital said, “Thanks to the good returns being obtained by our first two vehicles and the continued support of our current investors, who have once again placed their trust in us, we have been able to successfully complete the first closing of 4Founders Capital III. With it, we reaffirm our commitment to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, betting on technology startups with high growth potential and accompanying them in their development. Undoubtedly, our experience, consistency and track record with the two previous funds have been key to make this first successful closing given the current environment,”.

The fund is run by a team of experienced entrepreneurs and investors with a strong background in venture capital and building companies. The partners—Jesús Monleón, Javier Pérez-Tenessa, Marc Badosa, Marek Fodor, and Paula Blázquez—have founded six companies that together generate over €140 million in annual profits.

It works closely with SeedRocket, Spain's first major startup accelerator, giving them access to 85% of the startup deals in Spain.

4Founders Capital III follows the success of their previous funds. The first fund, 4Founders Capital I, started in 2017 with €12 million and gave investors a return of 20.84%. It supported 27 startups and had nine exits, including Holded, which paid back the entire fund in just five years.

The first fund still holds 13 strong companies, like The Hotel Network, Mailsuite, and Flanks. The second fund, 4Founders Capital II, launched in 2021 with €50 million and has invested in 38 startups, including Embat, Zenrows, Vidext, TaxDown, Viterbit, Dealcar, and Invofox.

Marek Fodor said, “This new fund represents a unique opportunity for investors who want to invest in technology, good diversification and excellent returns. For entrepreneurs, it means having a partner who understands their needs because we have been there before and is ready to contribute and support them at every stage,”.

With a strong history of success and a high number of profitable exits, 4Founders Capital has become Spain’s largest institutional pre-seed fund.
